International Cooperation
In a globlised knowledge economy universities need to collaborate to share and creat knowledge. The Royal University of Bhutan has strategic links with a selected number of Universities and related organization.
Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
The Royal University of Bhutan is an Associate Member of AIU. Every year RUB participates in a number of AIU events. Such participation has benefited RUB in learning and discussing various issues facing tertiary education in the region and in visiting many Indian universities and developing useful linkages.
Eurasia-Pacific Uninet
The Royal University of Bhutan is a member of Eurasia-Pacific Uninet. This association has resulted in establishing linkages with the universities in Austria, facilitated participation of RUB academics in some international conferences and seminars and received a PhD scholarship.
International Association of Universities (IAU) and International Association of the University Presidents (IAUP)
The Royal University of Bhutan is a member of the International Association of Universities and International Association of University Presidents. RUB receives a number of newsletters/ reading materials and invitations to attend international meetings, conferences and seminars organized by IAU and IAUP.
Renaissance College (RC), University of New Brunswick, Canada
The association with Renaissance College (RC), University of New Brunswick has brought about faculty exchanges, hosting RC students and in developing a Student Leadership Course pack.
School of International Training, USA
The Royal University of Bhutan is discussing and working with School of International Training (SIT) on the development and implementation of a semester long study abroad programme to be jointly offered by SIT and RUB to the SIT students. RUB has also received professional support and a masters scholarship from SIT.
