RUB and Akita University to explore areas of collaboration

 The Royal University of Bhutan signed an agreement with Akita University, Japan, at the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Thimphu on 6 July to promote

mutually beneficial academic and research partnerships between the two universities. With the signing of Agreement, the two universities will promote, among others, academic and cultural learning, research and global leadership in today’s high-tech and multi-cultural society. The main areas of collaboration will include faculty and student exchange, joint research, and promotion of joint research events.

The Akita University delegation was led by its Vice President, Professor Dr. Katsuhiko ENOMOTO who was accompanied by Professor Fuminobu NISHIDA and Ms. Namiko SUZUKI. The Royal University of Bhutan was represented by Mr. Gajel Lhundup (Registrar), Officiating Vice Chancellor who was accompanied by other senior officials from RUB.

On the sidelines of their visit, the delegation visited and interacted with the Directors and Deans of colleges. Akita University’s Vice President also delivered a talk on Cancer at the Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH). They also visited places of cultural and historical interest while in Bhutan.
