Staff and Student Statistics as of April 2011
The Staff and Students Statistics is a collection of basic statistical information that provides a quantitative overview of the current state of the University staff and students. Statistics are compiled twice a year, one in the month of May – June and other in the month of August- November. The process is repeated every year to ensure all colleges and stakeholders have access to information on tertiary education.
This report focuses on tertiary education and includes information on students, staff, various courses and programs offered, ratios, indicators and other information that are commonly used in measuring developments in the tertiary education system. The University intends to increase the intake capacity in the member colleges to cater to the growing number of class XII students passing out from higher secondary Schools in the country. The projected student strength in the member colleges by 2012 is 8847. This is in line with the University’s Strategic Plan 2004 – 2012.
The University is in the process of diversifying its programmes so as to increase access into tertiary education.
It is the intention of the University to have seventy five percent of its faculty with Masters Degree and twenty five percent with PhD by 2012.
