  1.3. Programme: Diploma in Forestry
1.3.1. Purpose of programme: The programme aims to advice on production systems, conservation and protection of nature, conduct research, provide extension services and to manage official works. Through enhanced knowledge and skills, the programme is expected to contribute to the rural development and the sustainable management of natural resources.

1.3.3. Course Duration: Full time 2 years
1.3.4. Status: The programme was earlier launched in 1992 as 3 years full-time study till 2001 enrolment. From 2002 till 2005 intake, the programme was restructured to 2 years full-time study. Later the programme was adopted by the University in 2006 and launched in the same year 2006. The programme is since then continuing till date. The programme was recently reviewed in 2013 and approved by 27th Academic Board.
