Before he became the Director of Institute of Language and Culture Studies Lopen Lungtaen Gyatsho was the Principal of the institute. He taught sanskrit and translation courses. He also worked as a Resource person at SCERT, India, Resource person in Sanskrit Bharti, Mata Mandir, Delhi, and in Lal Bahadur Sanskrit Vidyapith, New Delhi, India.
