The Academic Board and Executive Forum Meetings of the Royal University of Bhutan have 3 scheduled meetings each year commencing at different colleges of the University. The meetings are usually held for 3 days.
The 46th Academic and 7th Executive Board Meeting was held at the College of Language and Culture Studies (CLCS), Trongsa from 13 till 15th November. During the 3 day meeting, the board members brainstormed and addressed various issues related to the University. Some of the issues discussed were on establishment of a research centre, how to attract international students, student service management policy and University admission process.
The 3-day meeting wrapped up with the Prime Minister, His Excellency Lyonchen Dr Lotay Tshering granting audience to the board members.
Lyochen Dr Lotay Tshering on his way from Zhemgang stopped at Trongsa to visit the schools and the College and granted audience to the students and faculties too. Lyonchen talked about the need to have an economy and skill-based education system in the country. He said if RUB keeps producing world-class graduates, it will drive the economy of the country.
The next Academic Board and Executive Forum meeting will be held in Samtse College of Education.
