To develop research culture, the Royal University of Bhutan established 16 Research Centres across the Colleges.
These Research Centres cater not only to enhancement of research but also, build research capacity and maintain a sustainable financial base for research.
The Coordinators of the Centres, Dean of Industrial Linkages and Research Officers gathered for a two-day 'workshop of Research Centre Activities Planning, Reporting and Management’ from 3-4th March at the Gedu College of Business Studies.
During the workshop, the coordinators updated on their respective Centres’ success stories, shared challenges and discussed opportunities for the Centers. The Centre’s performances were also reviewed and activities of the Centres for the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 were also finalised.
Some of the achievements made by the Centres were the revival of bio-gas plant, development of electric car, designing of an electronically operated device for ser-khab in collaboration with the department of traditional medicine, publishing of few journals etc.
The workshop was conducted by the Department of Research and External Relations of Office of Vice Chancellor, Royal University of Bhutan.
