Corresponding to the auspicious occasion of the 65th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo and dedicating to the on-going celebrations of the 40th birth anniversary of His Majesty the King, Bhutan & Himalaya Research Centre (BHRC) at the College of Language and Culture Studies (CLCS), Taktse, Trongsa under the Royal University of Bhutan launched its inaugural International Journal of Bhutan & Himalayan Research (IJBHR) on 11th November 2020.
IJBHR is an annual, peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by BHRC at the College of Language and Culture Studies, Royal University of Bhutan. It aims to advance research and scholarship in all fields pertaining to social, culture, religion and humanities relevant to Bhutan and Himalayan region. The journal expected to be an annual publication will include a wide range of papers in English and Dzongkha based on theoretical or empirical research, perspectives, conference reports and book reviews which can contribute to the scholarship on Bhutan and Himalayan studies.
The Guest of Honour, Dasho Dzongda, Trongsa Dzongkha, graced the event by launching the Journal. The officials from Trongsa dzongkhag administration, President Lungtaen Gyatso, Deans, faculty members and students of CLCS attended the launch to celebrate His Majesty Fourth King’s birthday.
The inauguration of CLCS’ newly developed archery range was also scheduled at the same day. A commencement match between Trongsa Dzongkha officials and CLCS faculty was played in the afternoon.
