25 June 2018: His Majesty The King graced the 13th Convocation of the Royal University of Bhutan, and addressed over 2,100 graduates attending the ceremony.
His Majesty the King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck is the Chancellor of the Royal University of Bhutan.
Some 3,000 graduates and postgraduate degree recipients of the Royal University of Bhutan received their certificates at the convocation ceremony held at the Royal Institute of Management.
His Majesty addressed the graduates about the changing times and the responsibilities of qualities needed for Bhutan to successfully navigate the 21st century.
The 2016 graduates are from 10 colleges and institutions under the Royal University of Bhutan.
Close to 2,000 graduates, including masters and post graduates received their graduation certificates at the convocation ceremony.
The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay and home minister along with some other parliamentarian also attended the event.
His Majesty the King was ushered to the Royal Institute of Management Hall in a traditional Chipdrel ceremony.
The programme started with traditional Marchang ceremony followed by Zhabten and universities flags to His Majesty the King.
